AADSM's Position on HSATs
David Schwartz, DDS
Based on the recently published AADSM position statement on the scope of practice for dentists ordering and administering home sleep apnea tests (HSATs), Dr. David Schwartz, President of the AADSM, reviews why the position statement was developed and how the AADSM is planning to disseminate it. An overview is provided on how members can use the position statement to improve access to care for patients at-risk for obstructive sleep apnea in their own communities.
At the conclusion of this lecture, participants will be able to:
  1. Explain the AADSM’s position on dentists ordering or administering HSATs; and
  2. Advocate for dentists improving the model of care for patients at-risk for sleep apnea.
