Overview
Dental sleep medicine practitioners often experience challenges when submitting oral appliance therapy for Medicare reimbursement. During this webinar, Medicare representatives will share their recommendations for establishing effective billing practices. 
Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
  1. Better explain foundational principles of Medicare billing; 
  2. Consider effective models of Medicare billing management; and 
  3. Identify appropriate codes and support documentation for oral appliance therapy

Speaker Bio

Ashley DeCoteau
is a Provider Outreach and Education Representative at Noridian Healthcare Solutions LLC. Ashley provides outreach and education for Noridian States concentrating her attention on DME. Primary responsibilities include offering educational instructions and direction to the Medicare community. Prior to joining Noridian in January 2022, Ashley worked for other Medicare Administrative Contractors including CGS as a Senior Provider Outreach Analyst. She also worked as a team lead for a DMEPOS supplier and brings over 10 years of Medicare experience with her. 

Cindy White is a Supervisor of operations for the DME outreach and education teams at Noridian Healthcare Solutions. The main goal for the outreach and education team is to provide quality guidance on Medicare policy for both the jurisdiction A and jurisdiction D DME MAC contracts currently held by Noridian. Cindy is responsible for coordinating with her team to bring our supplier communities the most current and informative education possible. Cindy has also had the opportunity to present during many collaborative events with the provider community, referring patients to DMEPOS suppliers to assist in their understanding of Medicare DMEPOS requirements. Cindy has been with Noridian for nearly 11 years and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Business Administration.


Judie Roan is a Provider Relations Senior Analyst with CGS Jurisdiction C. Prior to joining CGS, Judie was an Outreach Specialist with the Jurisdiction A DME MAC and an Ombudsman and Business Analyst with the Region A DMERC. Judie brings over twenty-five years of Medicare experience to her current position. Her primary focus is providing the highest quality education and sharing her in-depth knowledge of Medicare policies. She strives to help the supplier community utilize all of the valuable resources available for the DMEPOS industry, guiding them to submit claims correctly and successfully pass audits.

 Kenneth A. Mogell, DMD is an expert in dental sleep medicine with over 14 years of experience treating sleep disorder breathing through oral appliance therapy. A Diplomate of both the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Mogell is passionate about raising awareness of the prevalence of sleep apnea and its associated consequences on patient health, as well as the need for increased acceptance of oral appliance therapy as a first line treatment option for the condition. Dr. Mogell's practice has been limited exclusively to treating patients with sleep disordered breathing since 2019. He currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for SLEEP REVIEW, The Journal for Sleep Specialists. He has chaired seminars and authored papers for the AADSM and Sleep Review.
