Overview
While oral appliances are an effective treatment option for obstructive sleep apnea, changes to the dental occlusion are a common side effect. With the indefinite nature of oral appliance therapy, a clear understanding of the magnitude and progression of occlusal changes is needed. In this webinar, an orthodontist provides insight into the nature of occlusal changes, their impact on patient satisfaction and some remedial strategies.
Objectives

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Consider individual patient risk for occlusal changes;
  2. Discuss expectations of known side effects with patients embarking on OAT; and
  3. Plan strategies to counteract device forces and monitor for problematic changes
Target Audience
Dentists screening or treating patients with sleep-related breathing disorders.
