Overview
CBCT can be an important diagnostic tool for the identification of upper respiratory tract pathology as well as alterations in morphology that may be relevant to the complete diagnosis of the sleep-disordered breathing patient. This talk will comprise of a step-by step demonstration of evaluation of a large field of view (16cm) CBCT for a patient with risk factors for sleep-disordered breathing. Dr. Tamimi will show how she tackles the upper respiratory tract for the review of areas of obstruction and alteration of airflow.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
    1. Review the methodology of CBCT interpretation in the DSM patient;
    2. Identification of the common areas of obstruction that can alter airflow through the upper respiratory tract;
    3. Review of radiographic anatomy of the upper respiratory tract as it pertains to sleep-disordered breathing.
Target Audience
Dentists screening or treating patients with sleep-related breathing disorders.
Speaker Bio
Dania Tamimi, BDS, DSMc, graduated with a dental degree from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She trained at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and earned a doctorate of medical science (DMSc) and certificate of fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2005. She is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow).

 She is a reviewer and an Editorial Board member for Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology (OOOO), as well as a reviewer for DMFR, Oral Radiology, Head and Neck, Angle Orthodontist and AJO-DO. She is the lead author on two textbooks: “Specialty Imaging: Dental Implants” (which has been translated to Portuguese and Russian) and “Specialty Imaging: Temporomandibular Joint and Sleep-Disordered Breathing” and a co-lead author on “Diagnostic Imaging, Oral and Maxillofacial” (translated to Spanish). She lectures nationally and internationally.

She currently runs her oral and maxillofacial radiology private practice in Orlando, Florida.
